3D Printing Journey
From Digital Concept to Physical Reality
Exploring the intersection of industrial design and rapid prototyping.
Digital Blueprint
Initial architectural and structural modeling before physical production.
Physical Prototypes
01. Tabletop Tissue Dispenser
A minimalist toilet paper holder designed specifically for desktop environments. It features a stable base and an ergonomic dispensing angle, blending everyday utility with clean aesthetics.
02. Dual-Charge Hub Stand
A custom charging station engineered to hold a phone horizontally (ideal for standby mode), with integrated space for a concealed Qi charger behind it, and an elevated magnetic slot specifically fitted for an Apple Watch charger.
The Production Workflow
1. CAD Engineering
Started the process in CAD software to establish precise physical dimensions, tolerances for the charging cables, and structural integrity for bearing the weight of the devices.
2. Blender Refinement
Exported the raw structural models into Blender to smooth out harsh edges, adjust the organic curves, and visualize the final surface finish before slicing.
3. Bambu Lab Output
Prepared the final STL files in Bambu Studio. Fine-tuned infill density and support structures to ensure a flawless and efficient printing process on the Bambu Lab printer.
My Reflection - "Holding a product you designed from scratch is an incredible feeling. Solving the practical problem of cable management with the charging stand taught me how to balance functional constraints with aesthetic design."
